The Law of Attraction and the SGR Program

The Law of Attraction is about putting yourself and your mindset in a space that allows you to be in a position to receive gifts from the universe. By working and thinking in a specific way, you can attract your hearts desires. There are specific steps you can take to allow you to attract anything into your life.

That specific way is known as the "certain way" according to Wallace D. Wattles. Wattles believed there is a particular set of steps one does to create wealth in our lives. These steps involve the physical, emotional and mental aspects of our lives. When they are in line and we act in a "certain way", then it is inevitable that we can receive the riches of the universe.

According to Wattles, it is an abundant universe. We can create the opportunities and the wealth into our lives by directing our thoughts and actions. When we place value on ourselves and the things we do, they will have an economic value to others around us. As long as we can bring value to others at a fair price then it is fair and just that we be compensated for our work.

By working in this "certain way", we can attract wealth into our lives. In other words there is a Science to Getting Rich. That is the the title of Wattles book. It is called the "Science of Getting Rich" (SGR). When Rhonda Byrne found the Science of Getting Rich, it inspired her to create the hugely successful movie, The Secret.

Bob Proctor, star of The Secret and a 40 year student of the Science of Getting Rich, created a home study program called the SGR Program. In it, Bob works through and discusses the science of getting rich in a methodical way through his audio program (10 CD's). Additionally, he challenges us to study the book and fully understand it's content with a comprehensive 180 page workbook. This workbook takes us through each chapter one by one and asks specific questions on our understanding of the text.

This is important because the Science of Getting Rich was written in 1903. While it's contents are still as relevant today as then, the language in the text may be lost on the modern reader. Bob's engaging questions encourage us to think about the book in a way we may not have seen it before. In effect, Bob Proctor expands on the power of the book by getting us to delve deeper into its meaning from our first reading.

Will Seminars Get You Clients?

I often suggest public speaking as a powerful way to show prospective clients what you can do. Many professionals and consultants have built successful practices by giving free presentations to associations, businesses, and educational institutions. But what about producing your own seminar, where you arrange the logistics and invite the guests? Does this work as a strategy for landing clients?

Offering a seminar can be an effective means to become more visible to your target market. If you are a good (or even fair) presenter, and the right people come to your seminar, you will definitely get new customers. But to use seminar marketing successfully, you need to be very clear on your goals, and plan each seminar carefully.

If the purpose of your seminar is primarily to get clients, you shouldn't be expecting to make money on the seminar itself. You may wish merely to cover your expenses, or maybe even spend a little extra. For this type of seminar, the key to making it pay off is to attract people who are good prospects for your business in the first place, rather than just filling the room.

Instead of making your seminar free, it's a good idea to charge a small fee. That way, your prospective clients will perceive you as offering something of value. The fee will also discourage attendance by people who can't afford your product or service. It's the quality of the participants that matters, not the quantity.

If what you really want is for your seminar to turn a profit, you must recognize that by offering full-fee seminars, you are adding another line of business to your company. Operating as a seminar producer will require the same kind of planning and ongoing management as your existing business does.

It can be as difficult to make a profit on your first seminar as it was to originally launch your business. Many people won't sign up for a seminar the first time they see it; others would like to come but can't make the date. You'll have a better chance of making money if you plan at the outset to offer your seminar on a regular basis. You may find, though, that this takes away too much time from your core business.

Whether the seminar you are planning is promotional or for profit, estimate your projected income and expenses before making a commitment to proceed. Base the income you project solely on the fee you will charge per person multiplied by the number of attendees you expect. Don't include any projected spinoff business in your income estimate. If you land new business, you will still have to work additional hours to earn that compensation.

Typical expenses include design and printing of a flyer or brochure, postage, posting a notice on your website, purchase of mailing lists (if you don't have your own), print and Internet media ads (including calendar listings), facility rent, audiovisuals, handouts, and refreshments. You should also consider the cost of your own time to design promotional materials, compile lists, compose e-mails, and make phone calls, as noted below.

In designing a snail mail or e-mail campaign for your seminar, keep in mind that it is quite typical to get only one registration for every 100 pieces you mail, even with a pre-qualified list.

Subtract your projected expenses from your income, then make a rational decision on whether to proceed. If the purpose of your seminar is to get business, estimate how much spinoff business is likely. Before going ahead, ask yourself if there might be an easier or cheaper way to get that many new clients or contracts.

If your purpose is to make money, divide your expected profit by the number of hours it will take you to design, market, and deliver your seminar. Is that amount a reasonable level of compensation for you?

If your best guess at the numbers tells you that producing a seminar makes good business sense for you, go for it! Because people do business with those they know, like, and trust, seminars can help you build a solid client base. And because repeat contacts raise awareness, mailings and ads about your seminar will generate more visibility for your core business.

Having doubt in yourself or your own instinct will also deter the attraction. Why? The Universe will often in its own way, present to you opportunities to help you but you may not have jumped at these opportunities due to your doubt.

2. Negativity.
When you focus on negative thoughts like "I do not want debt in my life", more debt will come into your life instead. The Universe does not understand "I want" vs "I do not want". It only knows that it will give to you whatever thing you focus on. Thus, why not focus on "I am a millionaire on 31st January 2009" instead?

3. Taking No Action.
This may be due to your laziness or due to self doubt as in Point 1. Imagine having the best no-risk opportunities presented to you but yet you do not take action, do you think you will be able to successfully attract all the things you want in your life?

Once you can eliminate the above points, the Universe will start arranging the events in your life to attract the things that you want into your life. What would you do with a million dollars? Buy your dream house? Retire, invest, and never work another day in your life? Go on a dream vacation? What if you could work from your home for a few hours a day and have money pouring into your bank account; enough to become financially independent for life. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Well, for the most part you're right.

We've all seen the ads for get rich quick schemes. The internet is full of them running the gamut from do-it-yourself real estate ventures to stock market investing to internet marketing. They all have one thing in common; a self-proclaimed guru that's willing to show you how to earn millions if you just buy their secret book. I can tell you right now that 99.9% of these people are total frauds. You may have even fallen prey to one of these scam artists, selling you their latest " work at home" program. I know I have. I've spent years and thousands of dollars looking for a golden opportunity. I've bought into dozens of these schemes, always looking for the big payoff and always coming away poorer and more disheartened. Finally, after so many disappointments, I got MAD. I decided to start researching these programs to prove that all of them were garbage and then tell my tale on the internet. It was a small dream but one I knew I could accomplish.

I contacted the owners or administrators of every work at home website I could find. I would enter into negotiations with them to purchase their website. Many of them were more than happy to sell and gave me the access I required in order to review their material before I would pay them. What I found was infuriating, and to my mind, criminal; almost all of them were junk. Many of the owners actually boasted about how many people bought their useless programs. I repeatedly found:

1. Information that was out of date
2. A complete lack of customer support
3. Substandard or nonexistent email support
4. Broken links within the site, or
5. Links leading to other sites that asked for more money

It was easy to tell that these so-called work at home programs were completely useless. And the owners knew it, yet they were laughing all the way to the bank! They knew that most people wouldn't follow up on a refund, even if they were offered on the site (which many didn't). Obviously I didn't respond when they asked if I was still interested in buying their websites. I toyed with the idea of reporting these people to some form of authority, but I didn't know who. Unfortunately, even though their product was junk, these people hadn't broken any laws. They just took money from average people that were just trying to get ahead in life.

I was able to locate a couple of individuals that actually ran legitimate programs. The owners of these programs are everyday people like you and me that found a way to make extra money working from home on their computers. Their membership areas are impressive, with quality content on how to make $100-$200 per day on your computer doing very little work. Several of them had robust customer service operations available around the clock. I even chatted with a few of their customers in several online forums, and they verified that they are making extra money through the sites, some even said they were making $500-$1,000 a day!

Please, don't take my word for it, review everything for yourself before you get involved. You can visit some review sites I found below. See what you think. The owners do charge a minimal fee for access to their program, which is to be expected for any legitimate company that actually has people on staff who are dedicated to helping you get started. Also, these aren't "get rich quick" schemes where you press the "Easy button" and get millions of dollars dumped in your bank account (although you can make a lot of money with them.) As with any legitimate business opportunity these programs require that you put forth effort and look for results over time. Some of these programs only have room for so many customers, so you may want to act quickly.

Well, fortunately, my quest to debunk all Work At Home programs failed, because I did find some legitimate ones. I have to say I was thoroughly disappointed with most of what I found, and I strongly advise that you do not take chances joining any programs before you thoroughly research them! Once you have strong enough reasons, you will have more drives toward your actions. Then, write down how you are going to do with these bad habits. The tip is that you need to break your patterns when you tend to do this stuff again. When you start to do the bad habits, shift your focus to the new habits. Change your pattern immediately. Do not dwell in the condition that will lead you to the old habits. Change what have anchored you to the old habits and go into the new habits immediately.

3. Keep the journal of the change.You need to keep record for reviewing your change. It may not happen overnight but you will see the improvement along the way. If not, you may have to change your approaches. Continuously evaluate yourself will enable you to feel good on the process if you have progress. It will enable you to adjust your approaches if you do not.

4. Visualize until you change.Visualization is the major tool to work with the law of attraction.
